Wehrle Implant Immersion Course

This intensive 4 day Live Surgery is limited to 16 clinicians and you will be able to return to your practice and begin providing predictable implant therapy to your patients after gaining the clinical experience through conducting implant placement on live patients.

All patients are screened ahead of time, and he personally reviews every CBCT and meticulously plan the procedures for our students. This allows them to match your case with your skill level for a true one-of-a-kind training experience, which utilizes pre-operative CBCT for planning and post-operative CBCT for case review.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Implant placement techniques including
    • Sinus bumps for bi-cortical stabilization
    • Ridge splits
    • Immediates
    • Flapless procedure
  • Piezo-electric surgery techniques
  • Centrifuge techniques for fibrin membrane and sticky bone
  • Advanced bone grafting
  • Mega ISQ readings with Ostell
  • Socket preservation
  • Sinus elevation techniques - lateral window and crestal membrane
  • Flap design and suturing techniques
  • Soft tissue grafting: both free gingival graft and sub-epithelial connective tissue graft
  • Osseo-densification utilizing Densah burs and osteotomes.
  • Maxillary anterior: complete implant placement often with hard and soft tissue augmentation and/or immediate temporization
  • Placement of implants for full arch restoration utilizing:
    • Locators and overdenture
    • Implant supported roundhouse bridges
    • Mixed dentition cases restored with full crown and bridge over natural teeth and implants

COURSE SCHEDULES

5:00pm: Flights depart from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport and Houston Intercontinental Airport.
7:30pm: Group flight arrives at the Hermanos Serdan International Airport in Puebla, Mexico.
8:30pm: Arrive at hotel at the BAM Center
9:00pm: Light dinner

7:00am - 8:00am: Breakfast and registration
8:00am - 1:00pm: Lecture

  • Explanation of how dental implant rehabilitation has become part of our standard of care
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Medical patient evaluation and implant treatment of medically compromised patients
  • Patient selection, site selection and implant selection
  • Diagnosis treatment planning options and risk assessment (surgical and prosthetic aspects)
  • Treatment planning exercises
  • Introduction of the implant system
  • Pre-op and post-op protocols explained with a review of analegesics/antibiotics. Management of complications

1:00pm - 2:00pm: Lunch
2:00pm - 4:00pm: Live surgery

  • Extraction and grafting

4:00pm - 7:00pm: Lecture

  • Introduction to grafting materials, membranes and socket preservation techniques following tooth extraction
  • Approaches for implant placement in the aesthetic zone and posterior maxilla and mandible
  • Loading protocols - immediate loading vs. delayed loading
  • Fundamental prosthodontic principles
  • Cement-retained vs screw-retained restorations
  • Review of advanced clinical cases and immediate implant placement procedures

7:00pm - 8:00pm: Dinner
8:00pm - 10:00pm: Open forum for case review (Doctors encouraged to bring their cases as well)

7:30am - 9:00am: Lecture

  • The instructors will plan each participant’s case utilizing 3D imaging

9:00am - 11:00am: Hands-on to place an implant

  • In the operatories of Wehrle Implant Immersion Clinic, each participant will place an implant, and then assist their partner’s implant placement. The participants will then take a post-op 3D CT scan of the placement.

11:00am - 1:00pm: Review of post-op CBCT for all morning patients and review of all pre-op CBCT for all afternoon patients
12:00pm: Lunch and review
2:00pm - 7:00pm: Hands-on-Surgeries

  • Place additional implants and assist your partner in the same utilizing CBCT
  • Perform extraction and grafting procedure
  • Question and answer session with the instructors

7:00pm - 10:00pm: Dinner and review of the day's surgeries and other recorded surgeries

7:00am - 7:30am: Breakfast at BAM center
7:30am - 9:00am: Lecture

  • Each participant will place and assist multiple implants, with the instructors observing, followed by a post-op 3D CT scan
  • Question and answer session with the instructors

1:00pm - 3:00pm: Lunch and review of the day's surgeries and other recorded surgeries
3:00pm - 5:00pm:  Implant surgeries and Locators™ placed for implant supported removal prosthesis.
6:00pm: Farewell and graduation dinner in historic downtown Puebla

5:00am: Group departs for Hermanos Serdan International Airport. A light breakfast will be served at the airport prior to departure
7:00am: Flights depart for Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport and Houston Intercontinental Airport
10:00am: Flights arrive at Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport and Houston Intercontinental Airport.

CANCELLATION POLICY

There is a $1000 cancellation fee up to 30 days prior to the course start date. 
No refunds will be given if canceled 30 days prior to the start date.
