1. Review Anatomy of the posterior regions of the mouth

  • Maxilla - Maxillary Sinus, Maxillary Artery, Socket Anatomy 
  • Mandible - Inferior Alveolar Nerve, Mental Nerve, Anterior Loop, Socket Anatomy 

2. Immediate Implant planning  - Immediate vs. Delayed implant placement

  • Advantageous vs. Disadvantageous 
  • Bury the implant or not 
  • Temporization or no temporization 
  • Guided vs. Free Hand approach 

3. Implant Placement 

  • Socket Anatomy During Placement 
  • Bone Expansion vs. No-Expansion 
  • Internal Sinus Lift 
  • Lateral Window Sinus Lift 
  • Size of Implant
Attendees Should be able to
  • Recognize when posterior immediate implant can be placed
  • Decide during planning stage whether a Guided Surgery would be necessary or a free hand approach would suffice
  • Understand the anatomy and techniques involved to place a posterior immediate
  • Understand how to choose the correct implant size based on anatomy
  • Understand if any adjunctive procedures are necessary with implant placement - for example, sinus grafting or temporization
