Dental Implant Solutions With a Focus on Longevity

8:45 - 10:15 | Dr. Ramsey Amin

* Evaluate the long-term prognosis of immediate implant solutions and the scenarios under which they are most effective.
* Discuss the use of existing bone versus bone reconstruction in implant stability and longevity.
* Analyze the impact of anatomical factors such as occlusion, vestibular depth, and gingival and bone biotypes on the success of dental implants.
* Assess the viability of various anchorage techniques including basal, pterygoid, zygomatic, and subperiosteal implants in different clinical situations.
* Critique the effectiveness of grafting and maintenance practices in sustaining long-term implant success, with an emphasis on avoiding complications and ensuring patient safety.

This lecture delves into the realm of immediate dental implant solutions with a special focus on achieving long-term success and predictability. Amidst a landscape where many implants offer quick fixes but limited duration, this session explores advanced techniques that ensure durability beyond the typical 3 to 7 years. We'll examine critical decisions in using existing bone structures versus reconstructing lost bone, and the role of remote anchorage techniques like basal, pterygoid, zygomatic, and subperiosteal implants. The discussion extends to how factors such as occlusion, vestibular depth, and biotypes influence implant longevity.

Additionally, we'll question the efficacy of grafting over time and address whether maintenance alone can ensure long-term success or if more intricate measures are necessary to avoid turning patients into perpetual recipients of care. This comprehensive review aims to equip practitioners with the knowledge to make informed decisions that prioritize patient outcomes without compromise.

Morning Break

10:15 - 10:35

Digital Integration of CBCT & CAD/CAM for Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Care

10:35 - 11:35 | Dr. Neal Patel

* Clinical applications of CBCT
* Introduction to CAD/CAM and Intraoral Imaging
* Integration of CBCT and CAD/CAM: technique and protocol
* Integration and Treatment planning for comprehensive implantology and Immediate
* Implantology with MegaGen* Review of surgical guide options
* Review Guided Implant Surgery Protocol: Scan, Plan, Place
* Review of CAD/CAM chairside restorative options
* Introduction to advanced Digital Jaw Tracking with CBCT, QVD Function
* Introduction to Future Applications

- Attendees will learn of modern approach to utilization of both CBCT imaging and CAD/CAM integration within private practice for routine diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical and restorative therapy.

- Attendees will understand diagnostic capabilities of 3D imaging in dentistry. - Attendees will learn about process of integration between CBCT and CAD/CAM for planning, lab fabricated surgical guides, and chairside milled surgical guides.

- Attendees will learn how CAD/CAM integration with CBCT facilitates treatment planning and clinical execution with extreme precision with minimally invasive techniques.

Prosthetically Guided Implant Therapy-where ideal meets clinical reality

11:35 - 12:35 | Dr. Ira Sy

* Ideal treatment planning and creating a blue print for long term success and predictability
* Prosthetically Guided Implant Therapy-Understanding the biology, mechanics, and tissue rehabilitation.
* Creating a natural tissue environment for long term predictability and success
* Guided Implant Surgery (GIS) versus Free Style Approach (FSA) with prosthetically guided immediacy (PGI)

Over the past decade, there has been an increase in oral implant rehabilitation. With the advent of digital workflows and integration of a guided surgical approaches, there has also been a trend that shows when implants are planned, they are positioned where the bone is rather than where the restorative position dictates. These planned implants maybe in a more lingual or palatal position and when the restorations are completed, the patients may experience various complications such as food impaction and the inability to properly maintain their implant supra-structures. Additionally, the accumulation of bacteria and plaque leads to the potential of peri-implant infection and prosthetic complications which may lead to the potential failure of the implant itself.

Q&A AM Lecture

12:35 - 12:50

Lunch Break

12:50 - 13:50

Predictable Molar Immediacy and Same Day 3D Printing

13:50 - 15:20 | Dr. Howard Ochs

* Classify Sockets as Type A, B and C.
* Understand strategies for placement in all socket types.
* Identify the principles and advantages of ZBLC.
* Discuss chair side and 3D printing techniques for individualized
   healing abutments and short temporaries."

Molar Immediacy has been challenging in the past for several reasons.
Firstly practitioners are historically taught that these sites should be grafted, allowed to heal for several months and then implants placed later. It was thought that primary stability is difficult to achieve because of the molar socket anatomy. We now know that this is no longer true. Newer implant design allows us to get predictable primary stability in the most challenging bone. We have learned lessons from Dr. Linkevicius about preserving the emergence profile to get better final restorations without food trap areas.
3D printing is a powerful technology that can now print a provisional in less than 10 minutes. The combination of these techniques is a huge advantage for the Patient, the Restorative Doctor and the Surgeon. This can be a huge growth opportunity for your practice as it has been for mine.

Afternoon Break

15:20 - 15:40

Implant and Endodontic Synergism

15:40 - 16:40 | Dr. Chase Thompson

* Understand an overview of modern endodontic treatment options and success rates.
* Understand case selection for endodontic and immediate dental implant treatment.
* Understand the benefits of immediate dental implant therapy.
* Understand criteria for successful immediate dental implants with an emphasis on the application of Zero Bone Loss Concepts

Endodontic therapy and dental implants have classically been viewed as competing or opposing treatment philosophies. This lecture aims to challenge this position, demonstrating how the disciplines can be quite complimentary. A series of cases will be presented to highlight how an in depth understanding of endodontics and dental implants, particularly immediate dental implants, greatly enhances patient experience and treatment outcomes.

The Art, Science, and Business Model of Full Arch Implant Therapy in Your Practice: Hidden Secrets to Success and the Use of the Right Implant System!

 16:40 - 18:00 | Dr. Kanyon Keeney

 * Understand and manage some of the patient related factors that can significantly affect the full arch case.
* Stage or engage: Know when to stage treatment and when to deliver immediate load!
* Explore the multiple algorithms in treatment execution and pick the one that is right for you.
* Discuss many of the “secrets” that can help you “marry” exquisite clinical success and a profitable business model.

Full arch immediate implant treatment has evolved to a predictable, long lasting, and life changing therapy for our patients. Whether the patient Is fully edentulous already or is a patient at a “crossroads” with a terminal dentition, the opportunity exists to significantly “upgrade” their health and improve their lives.

We have discovered that success in full arch treatment, both clinically and financially, relies on many more factors than just the skill of the doctors and the type of treatment workflow! Many of these “secret” determinants to success or failure are inadequately addressed or not recognized at all in most centers of learning. One of these determinants is the use of the right implant system!

This presentation will briefly identify and explore some of these less recognized factors and determinants of success vs failure that when ignored, could possibly frustrate, embarrass, and humble even the best implant surgeon among us! We will discuss the absolute importance of the right implant system to expedite and enhance your treatment and reduce headaches in both digital and analog workflows! Exquisite clinical outcomes and an efficient business model in full arch implant therapy demands that we recognize and incorporate many of these “secrets” in our path to success.
