DMD, MS
Dr. Lyman earned his M.S. in Biomedical Science from Barry University and his D.M.D. from Temple University. He received honors in Oral Surgery, the Academy of Osseointegration Award for Dental Implantology, and a scholarship in Head and Neck Oral Oncology, leading to a Maxillofacial Internship at the University of Maryland and Shock Trauma. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also volunteers monthly with Freedom Clinics USA, participates in the Florida Mission of Mercy, and teaches as clinical Oral Surgery faculty at LECOM School of Dental Medicine along with practicing full scope OMFS. Join us for a 2 hour lecture and dinner led by Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgeon Dr Austin Lyman.

Dr. Lyman will be discussing the overall benefits of Immediate Implant placement from a dentist and a patient perspective. He will touch on the indications for Immediate Implant placement, including the ability to gain initial stability in sockets with very little bone present. Dr.Lyman will discuss how to identify candidates for Immediates and the restorative outcomes that can be achieved.

Course Objective

By the end of the course, clinicians will be able to:
• Learn the surgical and prosthetic benefits of placing implants at the time of extraction.
• Identify the prosthetic considerations of Immediate Implant placement.
• Understand the role that Implant design plays in the ability to gain initial stability.
• Learn the Indications and contraindications of Immediate Implant Placement.
